Artemis of Aberdeen

Aberdeen NSW is known for being the birthplace of the Blue Heeler dog and the Gateway to the Horse Capital of Australia. The surrounding area boasts fine wineries and many renowned horse studs.

Joining the attractions in the region is Artemis of Aberdeen, situated on the main road between Graeme and Moray Streets. The Gallery is housed in the former St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, lending 19th century charm, that itself, is well worth a look. St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church was built in its present site in the late 1880’s, opening in December 1889. The land and £100 were donated by Matthew Henry Hall, with the total cost of construction being £500. Miss Lily Hall laid the foundation stone. In 1977 St. Paul’s Church became part of the Uniting Church. In 2002 the property was sold into private hands. In 2005, the church building was lovingly restored by its present owners who have been privileged to be given guardianship of the Bluford Family Memorial Windows and the Bible that was presented to the Church in 1913.

Opening Hours Artermis of Aberdeen is open Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm or by appointment.
