The vision of the program is to give artists the opportunity to explore new forms of expression relevant to the Newcastle Region and the unique qualities of the Lock-up. "Dwelling" is the first exhibition in Australia by Alexis De Stoop, an internationally renowned Belgium video artist.

The work is a 2 channel video installation on landscape and place Constructed from animated photographs, the foreground and background are distinct separate parts working on both the pictorial and cinematic levels. The imagery consists of six different sequences that form an open narrative taking us from sparse open landscapes into fragile interiors.
